Resilience in Air Cargo Logistics - Part 3: Building on 2024 for a Stronger 2025

As 2024 draws to a close, the air cargo industry is poised for a promising 2025. Building on the lessons learned this year, stakeholders are optimistic about continued demand growth, despite challenges on the horizon.

A significant contributor to this optimism is the increased collaboration between producers, forwarders, and airlines. The success of advanced shipments and flexible production planning has inspired confidence in managing capacity and yield in the year ahead.

While peak seasons may not always meet lofty expectations, the industry has embraced a "cautious optimism." The tight capacity seen in 2024 is expected to persist, emphasizing the importance of efficient space utilization. Block space agreements, in particular, will remain integral in balancing demand and supply.

Moreover, the modal shift from sea to air is likely to sustain demand, especially given the ongoing disruptions in maritime routes like the Red Sea. With these trends in mind, airlines are preparing to scale services and seize opportunities in evolving markets.

As we look to 2025, it’s clear that adaptability and collaboration will be the driving forces behind a resilient and thriving air cargo industry.
